8 October 2018: Erasmus+ project

The second international Erasmus+ project involving the Sesia Val Grande Geopark officially launched on 8 September. ‘Geoheritage and climate change for highlighting the professional perspective’ is the title of the project, which involves eight partners, including the Sesia Val Grande Geopark Association, and is being carried out across three countries: Italy, France and Finland.
The project, much like the one that concluded to great satisfaction in May, focuses on the theme of climate change and, specifically, on the professions linked to it; students are organised into working groups and involved in practical observation and research activities conducted using scientific research methods.
In addition to our geopark, the Rokua UNESCO Global Geopark and the Chablais UNESCO Global Geopark are also involved; the other Italian partners are the University of Turin and the Cobianchi Institute in Verbania. For this academic year, Italy is working remotely: on Monday 8 and Friday 14 October, the Italian partners worked virtually with their French and Finnish counterparts, connected via the Chablais Geopark for the official launch of this new international venture.
