The Sesia Val Grande UNESCO Geopark, in Piedmont, combines spectacular geology of international significance with biodiversity and human culture.
Geotourism itineraries
The Geopark’s walking routes
Trails – usually hiking routes – designed to showcase the geological heritage, promote the Earth Sciences, encourage geotourism and, more generally, raise public awareness of environmental issues. They enable visitors to learn about the many different types of rock that outcrop within the Geopark, to observe the landforms and to understand how they were formed: the rocks and the landscape features are clues left by the planet that allow us to understand its history – the trails to follow to discover its evolution. There are currently 16 such trails in the Geopark.
