The “Pietro Calderini” Museum
The “Pietro Calderini” Museum is housed on the second floor of the Palazzo dei Musei in Varallo. Since its inauguration in 1867, the museum was established within a relatively short timeframe, during which the collections were enriched by donations from not only the Valsesia region but also from further afield, to the extent that all branches of science and natural history are now represented.
The natural history collections were soon joined by other collections of a humanities nature, leading to the formation of sections dedicated to archaeology, ethnography, numismatics, weapons and autographs.
