The Blue Trail in Mergozzo

This is a historical and nature trail that is easy and suitable for everyone, and can be enjoyed in any season.

Montorfano is the ‘solitary’ mountain that rises from the Toce floodplain, flanked by Lake Mergozzo, Lake Maggiore and the River Toce. It appears as a single block of granite, scarred by centuries of quarrying. The Ecomuseum, dedicated to white granite, covers a vast area within the municipality of Mergozzo, forming a huge open-air laboratory.

The route runs along the eastern slope of Montorfano from the town of Mergozzo to the hamlet of Montorfano, offering panoramic views of Lakes Mergozzo and Maggiore, before returning to Mergozzo via the same route.
