Tactile Museum of Natural Sciences of the Lake and the Mountains
The museum, established in 2006 on the initiative of the Mountain Community in collaboration with specialists in supporting children with visual impairments, showcases the area’s main natural and environmental features, offering visitors the chance to touch all the exhibits, including stuffed animals.
The trail, accompanied by sounds of nature, is divided into various dioramas that recreate the rural environment, featuring the mountain pastures and farm animals (sheep, cattle, bees), the high mountains and rocky terrain, with a display featuring rock samples from the local area; the woodland, with the animals that inhabit it and a small wood collection documenting the trees typical of mid-altitude areas; and the lakeside reed bed.
The museum has also mapped out a geological trail from Viggiona to Mount Carza, for which a guide map is available.
