A UNESCO-themed community tour. The Geopark and the Biosphere Reserve

Sunday 29 August 2021, from 09:00 to 17:00 – a special event as part of this year’s Comunitour programme. For the first time, a community walk specifically aimed at young people and organised by young people, spanning the municipalities of Vogogna and Premosello-Chiovenda! In collaboration with the MAB Youth Ambassadors, alongside young people on civil service placements and the Official Guides of the Val Grande National Park, the theme of the day will be the Ticino Val Grande Verbano Biosphere Reserve and the UNESCO Geopark.

And so each stage of the walk is designed to showcase and describe the area of the Nature Reserve and the Geopark through interesting facts, activities and opportunities for observation. Once again, there’ll be plenty of opportunities for relaxation and rest along the way. To round off the day, there’ll be an aperitif at the Circolo di Colloro, a hamlet in the municipality of Premosello-Chiovenda. We look forward to seeing you there!!

PROGRAMME FOR THE DAY

Meet at 9.00 am at the Colloro Club car park (parking is also available below the Church of San Gottardo); fill in the attendance forms and listen to the first talk. At 10.30 am, the first stop is in Biogno, passing by the Oratory of San Bernando. The second stop will be in Capraga after about 45 minutes – a hamlet in the municipality of Vogogna – where we’ll visit some locations from Emanuele Caruso’s film *La Terra Buona*. The third stop, after 30 minutes, will be at Alpe Sasso Termine, where we’ll have lunch. At around 2.45 pm, we’ll reach Alpe Curt Luar via Alpe Ludo Termine and explore the mountain pasture. REQUIRED PREPARATION: A 6 km circular route suitable for everyone, with an elevation gain of approximately 550 m. Hiking clothing, walking boots and a water bottle.
LUNCH AND APERITIF Packed lunch at 1.15 pm. Aperitif at the Circolo di Colloro from 5.00 pm onwards. Please confirm your attendance at the start.
