DIVE – “Drilling the Ivrea-Verbano zone”

Meeting in Balmuccia on 12 September 2025

The ICDP scientific project on drilling into the deep crust and its transition to the mantle will be presented in Balmuccia at the Teatro Sociale, 6 Via Baraggiolo, on Friday 12 September at 5.45 pm.

Dr Alberto Zanetti of IGC-CNR Pavia, Prof. Othmar Muntener of the University of Lausanne and Prof. Luca Ziberna of the University of Trieste will be the speakers and will present the results of the scientific investigations carried out at Balmuccia, Vocca, Rossa and Boccioleto between 2017 and 2025, as well as the objectives of future scientific drilling operations.
