EGN Week 2025 – European Geoparks Week
From 24 May to 8 June 2025, the Sesia Val Grande UNESCO Global Geopark, together with the Val Grande National Park, the Valsesia Protected Areas Management Authority and the Sesia Val Grande Geopark Geotourism Association (a non-profit organisation), is celebrating UNESCO European Geoparks Network Week with a packed programme of events!
Here are the events:
- 24 May – “Mount Fenera and its caves”
Grignasco (NO), Ara Caves Visitor Centre and Garden
A day spent immersed in nature, discovering the natural and geological heritage of this corner of Piedmont. For more information, click here
- 24 May – “Among the vineyards and the mottos of Boca”
Boca (NO)
A day-long hike through the hills of Boca, taking in vineyards and woodland, leading to rugged yet spectacular viewpoints. For information and to book, click here
- 24 May – “Roots: wine from the rock to the glass”
Maggiora (NO)
A half-day excursion offering a taste of Upper Piedmont, where the vines sink their roots into rocks that conceal surprising geological wonders: ancient volcanoes and seas from a bygone era. For information and bookings, click here
- 30 May – “Terraced landscapes and hydrogeological instability: what is the connection?”
Miazzina (VB) – Cascina Francesca
A meeting exploring the relationship between terraced landscapes and hydrogeological instability. The restoration of dry-stone walls can be a valuable tool in preventing and combating the effects of hydrogeological instability. For more information, click here

Carcoforo (VC) – Carcoforo Natural History Museum
A day packed with activities for young and old alike, designed to bring the public closer to nature and its secrets. For more information, click here
- 1 June – “Where stone becomes history: lime, marble and soapstone”

Balmuccia (VC) – Teatro Sociale
