European Geoparks Week 2026 – EGN Week 2026

From 24 May to 7 June, the Sesia Val Grande UNESCO Global Geopark is celebrating UNESCO European Geoparks Network Week with a packed programme of events!

Here are the events:

• 24 May – “Alpi Argnaccia e Cangello”, Campertogno(VC)

• 24 May – “Carcoforo Natural History Museum”,Carcoforo (VC)

A visit to the museum, a workshop on the larch forest and a nature walk to mark European Parks Day. For more information,click here

• 27 May – “Geopark Day 2026: River Edition”,Scopa (VC)

A free training day on the link between geology, the local area and geotourism along the River Sesia. For more information,click here

• 30 May – “Alpe Testanera and Monte Rosa”,Alagna (VC)

A route that, starting from the historic Turlo mule track, takes us along a high-altitude path with a view of Monte Rosa. For more information,click here

• 30 May – “San Lorenzo Factory Museum in Kreas”,Alagna (VC)

Opening with a free guided tour of the museum to mark the 28th National Mining Day. For information and bookings, call 0163922988

• 31 May – “Where the earthenware pots are made”,Santa Maria Maggiore (VCO)

Guided walk to the Monte Castello outcrop in the Valle del Basso, where soapstone was once quarried for the manufacture of traditional pots and pans. For more information,click here

• 7 June – “Melody by the Mysterious Pond”,Roccapietra (VC)

A walk to Lake Sant’Agostino, a place steeped in charm, esotericism and mystery, as well as a geological site within our Geopark, featuring musical interludes played on the handpan. A climb up to Barbavara Castle. For more information,click here.
