Guardabosone, a village-museum well worth a visit
Throughout August, the Sesia Val Grande Geopark Association organises a range of excursions within the Geopark, which – in collaboration with local authorities – offer visitors the chance to explore areas steeped in history and to rediscover local traditions. Among these places is Guardabosone, a small village of just a few hundred inhabitants situated on a ridge between Valsesia and Valsessera. Its medieval origins are clearly evident in its historic centre, and there are many sites of historical, artistic and environmental interest, including chapels, oratories, two main churches, a botanical garden and no fewer than five museums dedicated to arts and crafts and the natural sciences.
On the afternoon of 11 August 2018, starting at 4.30 pm, visitors will be able to explore Guardabosone, accompanied by the Mayor. The meeting point is in Piazza Don Rigazio, near La Barrique restaurant, from where the walking tour begins. At the end of the tour of the town, there will be an opportunity to have dinner together at La Barrique restaurant.
