Planet Earth Week – 11 October 2025
The second event of Earth Week, organised in our Geopark, is dedicated to the caves of Monte Fenera!
A journey through time, from the Mesozoic sea to Neanderthals, to discover the oldest archaeological site in the north-western Alps. An excursion to explore the fascinating geological history of Mount Fenera and its caves, the people who once lived there, and the organisms that inhabit them today.
Meet at the car park in the hamlet of Fenera San Giulio (Borgosesia, VC), then walk up to the caves along the themed trail, followed by a visit to the Ciutarun and Ciota Ciara caves.
