THE BOOK
This short fantasy tale – which nevertheless follows the historical account closely – recounts the origins of Milan Cathedral, enriched by evocative illustrations created especially for the book. The journey of a single large block of rough marble, quarried from its mountain and transformed by the hands of a skilled sculptor into a magnificent statue for the Duomo, allows us to rediscover not only the artistic and cultural journey, but also the material and historical one, which, via natural and artificial waterways such as the famous Naviglio Grande, made it possible to transport an enormous mass of rock from the mountains into the heart of Milan.
