RigeneRosa Project

The topic of glaciers remains as relevant and interesting as ever. Following a morning spent on the Indren Glacier today in Alagna, at the foot of Monte Rosa, Legambiente and the Municipality of Alagna presented the “RigeneRosa” project at the Teatro dell’Unione Alagnese. The project was organised by Marco Giardino and Cristina Viani, members of the Italian Glaciological Committee. It is a “project aimed at raising awareness of climate change and promoting high-mountain environments”.

On 17 August, the third edition of the Carovana dei ghiacciai began – Legambiente’s journey through the Alps, which will conclude on 3 September. As a highlight of the day, there was a musical performance by Martin Mayes, an alphorn player, on the Indren Glacier.
