Summer 2026 in Valsesia: walks, nature and activities with the Official Guides
The extensive programme of excursions organised by the Official Guides of the Valsesia Protected Areas – an organisation that forms part of our Geopark’s governing body – is now online.
During July and August, a programme of events is planned for people of all ages, aimed at raising awareness of, promoting and protecting the region’s natural, historical and cultural heritage.
The activities will take place in the main protected areas of Valsesia and will offer opportunities to explore and discover the Alpine landscape, its geological features and local traditions.
Here’s a sneak preview of the summer programme:
Monte Fenera Nature Park
The planned activities include walks along the Caves Trail, in an area of particular geological and archaeological interest linked to the presence of Neanderthals.
At the Casa delle Grotte in Ara, workshops, educational activities and in-depth sessions will be organised for families, schools and visitors keen to learn more about the local area.
Alta Valsesia and Alta Valstrona Nature Park
The programme includes hiking routes within Europe’s highest protected area, taking in Walser villages, glaciers, alpine lakes and ancient mountain pastures.
These activities will provide an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the Alpine environment and the traditions associated with life and work in the mountains, through guided experiences in the local area.
The events will take place in accordance with safety guidelines and may be subject to changes or postponements in the event of adverse weather conditions.
