The Sesia Val Grande Geopark at the 53rd Meeting of the European Geoparks Network

This week, the Sesia Val Grande Geopark is in the international spotlight thanks to the participation of its director, Dr Michele Zanelli, and its scientific coordinator, Prof. Marco Giardino, at the 53rd European Geoparks Network Coordination Committee Meeting.

The meeting, hosted by the Karawanken-Karavanke UNESCO Global Geopark, is one of the key opportunities for dialogue amongst the European geoparks that are members of the European Geoparks Network, with the aim of sharing strategies, best practices and projects dedicated to promoting geodiversity and geoconservation.

Participation in this major international event confirms the geopark’s commitment to strengthening its collaboration with the European and global network, by promoting initiatives focused on sustainability, the protection of geological heritage and the dissemination of scientific knowledge.

Dialogue between local areas and institutions is, in fact, a key factor in tackling shared challenges and making the most of the natural and cultural resources of geoparks in an integrated way.

The Sesia Val Grande Geopark thus continues to contribute actively to the mission of the Global Geoparks Network, working in partnership with European and international partners to promote the beauty and uniqueness of these areas.
